Q:  How does the scholarship fund benefit MOST from my purchases?
A:  To best answer this question, I should first explain that when you follow a link to a recommended item, a "maximum commission indicator" is added to the pointer that tells Amazon where you are in the website.  If you move to another page without putting the recommended item in the shopping basket, that maximum commission indicator falls off, never to be seen again, until you follow another recommended item link.
This means that, if you follow a link to an item and immediately put that item in the shopping cart, the scholarship fund can get as much as 15% of the value of the sale!
If you follow a link to an item and follow links to any other product, recommended or not, the commission is reduced to a maximum of 5%.
If you connect to Amazon.com from any link at www.mensalaska.com or www.northernlightreading.com and buy a product, there is some benefit to the scholarship fund.  Commissions vary according to type of product and associated vendor.
So, if you look over the recommendations on www.northernlightreading.com and see more than one item that you would like to buy, the best way for the scholarship fund to benefit would be to click on each recommended item link, put it in the shopping cart, then go back to www.northernlight reading.com, find the next item and put that in the shopping cart.
Please note:  If, the next time you want to buy from Amazon.com, you go directly to Amazon.com without using www.northernlightreading as an intermediary, Amazon.com has no way of determining to whom to pay the commissions, and therefore, the scholarship fund will not be benefitted!
